High-precision RCDs and SPDs engineered for DC infrastructure.
As the world transitions toward a decarbonized economy, the reliance on Direct Current (DC) power systems has reached unprecedented levels. From massive solar farms in the Sahara to domestic EV charging wallboxes in Norway, the need for robust DC Residual Current Devices (RCDs) is no longer optional—it is a critical safety mandate.
Unlike traditional AC systems, DC faults can be exceptionally difficult to extinguish once an arc is formed. Standard Type A or Type AC RCDs are often blind to smooth DC residual currents, which can saturate the magnetic core and prevent the device from tripping during a genuine fault. This "blinding" effect makes the specialized Type B RCD the gold standard for modern renewable energy and electromobility sectors.

Quality is the primary goal among each of our workshops since this leads to the best performance and safety for any Solar, Storage, and EV charging system. Our commitment to quality increased brand awareness for your company.
To achieve our goal, our factory and products comply with:
UL, SAA, CB, CE, TUV, ISO, and RoHS standards.
This rigorous compliance ensures that our partners in Europe, North America, and Australia can integrate our components without regulatory friction.
Tailored solutions for diverse global environments.
Protection for variable speed drives and UPS systems where DC leakage is a common byproduct of high-frequency switching.
Grid-tied and off-grid inverters requiring Type B RCDs to prevent DC injection back into the AC network.
Residential and commercial DC fast chargers where precise mA leakage detection is vital for human safety.
Achieving our goals come from formulating new products based on the market demands through our in-house R&D team. Our efforts have led to our first UL508i listed patented DC switch within China and the DC-PV2 DC switch produced for the global market.
With our cutting-edge PV protective products and EV chargers, we aim to create a long-term partnership with many renewables companies. We are currently developing "Smart RCDs" that feature IoT connectivity for real-time leakage monitoring and predictive maintenance, reducing downtime for utility-scale solar installations.
Combining world-class engineering with manufacturing efficiency.
Located in Foshan, the heart of China's industrial manufacturing, we provide rapid prototyping and high-volume production with significantly shorter lead times than Western counterparts.
Leveraging our 30 years of vertical integration, we offer premium Type B RCD and SPD solutions at a price point that enables our clients to win more competitive tenders.
We handle international compliance and shipping logistics, ensuring that your protective devices arrive with the correct certifications for your specific region.

The global push for electrification is fundamentally changing the architectural requirements of power grids. In the past, residual current protection was primarily focused on preventing fire and shock in AC residential circuits. However, the rise of the "Prosumer"—individuals who both produce (via solar) and consume energy—has introduced complex bi-directional power flows. This complexity necessitates DC RCDs that can distinguish between harmless operational leakage (capacitive current) and dangerous fault current.
For manufacturers and suppliers, the challenge lies in the sensitivity of these devices. A high-quality Type B RCD must be able to detect AC residual currents, pulsating DC residual currents, and smooth DC residual currents up to several kilohertz. This is essential in environments with frequency converters (VFDs) where the switching frequency can create high-order harmonics that "confuse" standard protection devices.
Moreover, the integration of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) in residential and commercial buildings introduces a high density of DC power. In the event of an insulation failure, a DC current can flow back to the AC side, causing the magnetic core of a standard Type A RCD to saturate. This prevents it from tripping when needed, creating a significant safety hazard. Our 1500V DC solutions are specifically designed to address these edge cases, providing a "failsafe" layer for installers and end-users alike.
Procurement professionals today are looking for more than just a part number; they are looking for a reliability partner. With certifications like TUV, CE, and UL, SDEV Charger Co., Ltd. ensures that every DC RCD leaving our factory is ready for the rigors of the field, whether it's the extreme heat of an Australian solar farm or the high-cycle demands of a European public EV charging hub. Our commitment to innovation, coupled with 30 years of manufacturing heritage, makes us the preferred choice for companies aiming to lead the green energy revolution.
